This decadent mug cake is made with actual Oreos for the most intensely chocolate treat! In just 5 minutes, you can have a warm, gooey, individual cake that's studded with Oreo pieces. It's the perfect portion-controlled dessert for when you need chocolate NOW.

Ingredients

  • 6 Oreo cookies
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for topping
  • Optional: extra Oreo pieces for topping

Instructions

  1. 1 Separate Oreo cookies - you'll use both the cookies and the cream filling.
  2. 2 Place 5 Oreos (with cream) in a microwave-safe mug.
  3. 3 Add milk and mash with a fork until mostly smooth (some small chunks are fine).
  4. 4 Add baking powder and a pinch of salt, mixing well.
  5. 5 Roughly chop the remaining Oreo and fold into the batter.
  6. 6 Microwave on high for 60-90 seconds, watching carefully.
  7. 7 The cake should rise and look set on top.
  8. 8 Let cool for 1-2 minutes (it will be very hot!).
  9. 9 Top with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or extra Oreo pieces.
  10. 10 Enjoy immediately while warm and gooey.

Chef's Tips

  • Watch carefully while microwaving - it can overflow if your mug is too small.
  • Start with 60 seconds and add more time if needed.
  • The cake will be very hot right out of the microwave - let it cool slightly.
  • For a fudgier texture, slightly undermicrowave it.
  • Use at least a 12oz mug to prevent overflow.
  • Double Stuf Oreos make this even richer!
  • This works with any Oreo flavor - try Golden, Mint, or Peanut Butter.
