Baked Sushi Casserole
This Filipino-inspired dish took the internet by storm! All the flavors of sushi rolls baked into a shareable casserole. Layers of seasoned sushi rice, creamy imitation crab mixture, and a spicy mayo topping are baked until bubbly and golden. Scoop onto nori sheets for the perfect bite!
Ingredients
- 3 cups cooked sushi rice
- 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 lb imitation crab, shredded
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sriracha
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- For topping: 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sriracha
- 1/4 cup furikake seasoning
- Nori sheets for serving
- Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- 1 Preheat oven to 375°F.
- 2 In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved.
- 3 Pour over warm sushi rice and mix gently. Let cool.
- 4 Press seasoned rice into the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish.
- 5 In a bowl, combine shredded imitation crab, cream cheese, mayonnaise, sriracha, and soy sauce. Mix until creamy.
- 6 Spread the crab mixture evenly over the rice layer.
- 7 In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise and sriracha for the topping.
- 8 Drizzle or spread the spicy mayo over the crab layer.
- 9 Sprinkle furikake seasoning on top.
- 10 Bake for 15-20 minutes until heated through and bubbly.
- 11 Turn on broiler for the last 2 minutes to get golden brown on top.
- 12 Remove from oven and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
- 13 Serve with nori sheets for scooping.
